I began performing in the Philly tri-state area. I played as a solo act, in duos, and in bands in many musical genres including folk, rock, blues, and country to jazz. I later supported myself as a guitar teacher.
I have played in coffeehouses, colleges, rock clubs, bars, gin mills, and other venues. I’ve been featured on local radio stations WHYY, WMMR, and WIOQ.
I co-produced and mixed the album Swords Into Plowshares: Songs of Freedom and Struggle featuring Pete Seeger and Tom Paxton. I was a recording engineer at Alpha Studios working sessions as assistant engineer with Stevie Wonder, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, and Al Martino.
Previous bands include A.O.K., Kitchen Jam and Moonrise. As a member of the folk duo Moonrise, we opened for Essra Mohawk at the People’s Choice, and we were booked to open for Mississippi Fred McDowell at the Valley Forge Music Fair when he passed away a week before the performance. My band A.O.K. headlined the Ambler Cabaret, the Empire Rock Club, and other local clubs. I have been a volunteer for the Philadelphia Folk Festival. I was a college radio DJ for WDFM.
Here I am with a bullhorn, leading a crowd of about 300 people in singing my song “Can You Feel It (Come and Heal Us) – A Song for the Soul of America” at the President’s Day Anti-Trump Protest at the Old Court House in Doylestown, PA.
It was one of those truly moving moments — the crowd had never heard the song before, but they jumped right in. Within minutes, hundreds of voices were singing together, feeling the message and lifting it up. It was incredible to witness and be part of that energy. Music really can bring people together when we need it most.
